History

The Southeast Arkansas Jewel Foundation is a nonprofit corporation is a publicly supported, public benefit, non-profit organization established or charitable and educational purposes; the non-profit satus may qualify it for exemption under Paragraph 501(c)(3) of the IRS code of 1954 (as amended) and the Arkansas Nonprofit Corporation Act of 1993. The corporation’s initial business place is 1606 Lin Caru Drive, Pine Bluff, Ar 71601.

Purpose

The Corporation is formed to improve the quality of life for the residents of the State of Arkansas. Specific objectives are as follows:

  • Provide education scholarships
  • Improve community development, education and literacy;
  • Create meaningful activities and educational opportunities for inner city children and at-risk youth;
  • Provide education and training services consistent with charitable educational and economic development purposes that will serve to improve the quality of life and living conditions for Arkansans;
  • Provide for community economic development opportunities within the target area;
  • Acquire, lease, own or otherwise control any facilities, assets or entities, that are deemed necessary or useful in the reversal of community deterioration in the target area;
  • Any and all other lawful purposes which are permissible for a not-for-profit corporation.
