For high school and college African American males
The Delta Sigma Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated has created an annual $1,000 scholarship to a Pine Bluff or Jefferson County African American
Eligibility criteria for DSALPHA scholarship applicants are:
- African American male
- Has at least a 3.0 grade point average in high school or college. Legacy scholarships may have additional criteria listed by the donor
- Has been accepted for admission to, or attending as a full-time student an accredited four-year college or university
- Is engaged in community service and extracurricular activities
- Demonstrates leadership and positive character traits
- Sons or male dependents of The Delta Sigma Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, are not eligible to apply
Requirements for DSALPHA scholarship applicants
- Completed the application signed by the student and parent or guardian if the student is under 18
- Official high school transcript that includes applicant’s grade point average. The transcript must be in a sealed envelope and must be included with completed application components
- Provide two letters of recommendation from a schoolteacher or counselor, and one letter from a non-relative community-based organization official
- A 500 Word essay on your educational and educational goals
- Provide a professional photograph in jpeg format
