For high school and college African American males

The Delta Sigma Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated has created an annual $1,000 scholarship to a Pine Bluff or Jefferson County African American

Eligibility criteria for DSALPHA scholarship applicants are:

  • African American male
  • Has at least a 3.0 grade point average in high school or college. Legacy scholarships may have additional criteria listed by the donor
  • Has been accepted for admission to, or attending as a full-time student an accredited four-year college or university
  • Is engaged in community service and extracurricular activities
  • Demonstrates leadership and positive character traits
  • Sons or male dependents of The Delta Sigma Lambda Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, are not eligible to apply

Requirements for DSALPHA scholarship applicants

  • Completed the application signed by the student and parent or guardian if the student is under 18
  • Official high school transcript that includes applicant’s grade point average. The transcript must be in a sealed envelope and must be included with completed application components
  • Provide two letters of recommendation from a schoolteacher or counselor, and one letter from a non-relative community-based organization official
  • A 500 Word essay on your educational and educational goals
  • Provide a professional photograph in jpeg format
